We are using Miniimplants in our office as :

– Temporary stabilizer of dentures after conventional implant treatment

– As an orthodontic retainer

We are not using Miniimplants as:

– Prosthodontic implant for crown and bridge treatment

– As permanent denture retainers

In some case we do use miniimplants as a prosthodontic solution. In case we have a very narrow space and cant place a conventional implant(lower anterior). The reason why we dont use Miniimplants instead of conventional implants is the reduced diameter of this implants. This reduced diameter doesn’t allow the miniimplant to tolerate big forces. A longtime failure would be the consequence.
